Umpire Clinics
2014 Umpire Clinic information can be found below. Please note the detailed information that follows the schedule regarding registering with BCBUA. Anyone interested in umpiring should contact Eric Rasmussen at 592 7297 or at ericrasmussen@telus.net for more information.
All 2014 umpire clinics can be found at bcbua.ca. Press HERE to register.
NOTE: Regardless of what division, ALL umpires in the GVBA need to be registered with the BCBUA. This can only be done now online. Registration and Membership dues for 2014 can be paid via the BCBUA website at bcbua.ca. To do this, the umpire or their parents will need to create a user profile and password. If you registered last year, you will need to enter your ID number and password issued to you last year to see your profile and re-register for 2014. Credit card is the only method of payment available for membership.
One of the benefits of being a member is the ability to register for one of the upcoming umpire clinics. Once you are a member, you may attend as many clinics as you like and all materials are provided and are free. All clinic registrations are done via the BCBUA website by simply choosing the clinic location and date that is desired.
PLEASE NOTE: You must sign up online for the clinic you want to attend. We cannot guarantee that there will be space if you just show up the day of the clinic, so please pre-register.
Some of the GVBA parks pay for their umpire’s membership dues. If this is true in your park, you will still need to pay online and then seek reimbursement from your park. I can provide your park the necessary information for you to get your reimbursement.
Also note that there is a L2 refresher clinic offered this year. It is a 4 hour clinic and an umpire needs to be a Level 2 for 3 years prior or be a Level 3 umpire to qualify for this clinic.
Details on ALL the BCBUA clinic descriptions is available at bcbua.ca
Umpire Report Forms
Ejection Report Form
In the event that a manager, coach or player is ejected from a game, umpires are required to fill out and submit an Ejection Report within 48 hours of the game. This report must be filed online at the BCBUA website at www.bcbua.ca.
Incident Report Form
Incident reports can be submitted by anyone involved in a baseball game (on or off the field) that involves a GVMBA team. An Incident Report is used to report behavior from any player, coach, manager, or umpire involved in a game that is felt not to be in accordance with the BC Minor Code of Conduct. Incident Reports should not include complaints of an umpire’s judgment calls or rule interpretations. Incident Reports can be submitted to any GVMBA Board Member and may be reviewed by the Discipline Committee. It is at the discretion of the Discipline Committee Chair to decide on the appropriate course of action to deal with the situation.
