April 8, 2016: The Victoria Eagles Baseball Club is pleased to announce that it has been asked by the Greater Victoria Baseball Association to operate the two 2016 PeeWee AAA Summer Teams. The Managers of the two PeeWee AAA teams will be selected by the Eagles and the teams will be organized like the other five Eagles high performance teams.
In addition, the 2016 season will see a different format for the two PeeWee AAA teams. In previous years, the two teams have been equal and balanced. However, this year the roster of the Tier 1 PeeWee AAA Black Eagles will be the top 13 players regardless of age. The 13 players chosen for the Tier 2 PeeWee AAA Red Eagles will be exclusively 11 year olds.
The Eagles will be selecting the two Managers of the PeeWee AAA teams in the next week or two. The two Managers will choose their rosters after evaluating the players at three tryouts in early May. The details of the tryouts for the two 2016 PeeWee AAA Summer Teams are as follows:
May 1st, Carnarvon Park 5:00 – 8:00 pm
May 4th, Carnarvon Park 5:00 – 8:00 pm
May 6th, Esquimalt Lions Park 5:00 – 8:00 pm
NOTE: The May 4th location was corrected to Carnarvon (instead of Lions) on April 21.
Players interested in trying out for the PeeWee AAA Red and Black Eagles should attend two of the three camps and must pre-register at http://goo.gl/forms/SZN74MMtgc . Any player unable to attend any of the three camps should contact the PeeWee AAA Coordinator, Carol Ogborne, at victoriabaseball@gmail.com.
There is a $20.00 assessment fee which must be paid in cash at the first session a player attends. Players must be at the assessment location by 5:00 pm when they will be checked in and assigned a tryout number. All players must be ready to go shortly thereafter. Any questions can be directed to Carol Ogborne at victoriabaseball@gmail.com.
